Dieses Ziel konnte EA mit Battlefield: Bad Company 2 und Medal of Honor im Jahr 2010 nicht erreichen, da "nur" zehn Millionen Exemplare dieser Spiele verkauft wurden, während Activision Blizzard rund 25 Millionen Versionen von Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 und Call of Duty: Black Ops abgesetzt hat (laut John Riccitiello). Trotzdem ist der EA-Chef mit der Entwicklung im Vergleich zum Vorjahr zufrieden, schließlich habe Call of Duty auch mehrere Spiele/Nachfolger gebraucht, um die zweistellige Millionenzahl zu erreichen.
Riccitiello geht davon aus, dass die Call of Duty-Verkaufszahlen für das nächste Jahr in etwa gleich bleiben werden, aber die drei Titel von Electronic Arts (Crysis 2, Bulletstorm und Battlefield 3) eine Chance haben, die "Shooter-Krone 2011" zu erlangen...
As for EA's continued assault on the shooter category, Riccitiello added that "next year we'll make a lot more progress. We've got a couple of third-party games in the form of Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm, and then our big focus is Battlefield 3 in the second half of the year. I'd be shocked if we didn't take a notch out of [Activision]."
