PlayStation 4 - Spiele nicht teurer als 60 Dollar und jeder Titel im Store

Die Preise der Spiele für die PlayStation 4 (ab 1,29€ bei kaufen) sollen die Marke von 60 Dollar nicht überschreiten, dies sagte Jack Tretton (CEO von Sony Computer Entertainment of America) gegenüber CNBC . Im gleichen Atemzug erklärte er, dass man den Kunden mehr Vielfalt bieten würde, schließlich werde es sowohl Free-to-play-Titel als auch Spiele in der Preisspanne von 99 Cent bis 60 Dollar geben. Im Rahmen des PlayStation-Events stellten viele Entwickler klar, dass die Entwicklungskosten für PS4 kaum höher ausfallen sollen (wir berichteten).

"I think people are willing to pay if they see value there and I think there's more choice than ever before for consumers. We're going to welcome free-to-play models; games from 99 cents up to those $60 games. But if you really see where the heat is for the true gamer on the console it's still that big-form experience that typically runs upwards of $50 million to develop and will justify that $60 price point and will give people hours and hours of gameplay on a daily basis for months and years to come."

Außerdem soll das Download-Angebot deutlich erweitert werden. Laut Shuhei Yoshida (CEO der Sony Worldwide Studios) soll jedes PlayStation 4-Spiel, das auf einem Datenträger (Disk) im Handel erscheint, auch im PlayStation Store als digitale Fassung angeboten werden - genau wie bei der PlayStation Vita.
