Skulls of the Shogun: Bald nicht mehr Windows-8-exklusiv

Im 4P-Test konnte Skulls of the Shogun voll überzeugen und gar einen Gold-Award einheimsen. Die PC-Version hatte allerdings einen kleinen Makel: Sie war nur auf Windows 8 verfügbar.

Wer Microsofts jüngstes Betriebssystem bisher vermieden hat, kommt demnächst zum Zug: Wie 17-BIT heute verkündet, wird das Spiel auch bald Windows XP, Vista und 7 unsicher machen. Die so genannten Bone-A-Fide Edition des Spiels kann seit heute auf Steam  oder über den Humble Store vorbestellt werden und soll Ende Juli vom Stapel laufen.

Neben allen Inhalten der Originalversion des rundenbasierten Strategietitels wird noch eine vier Kapitel umfassende Zusatzepisode geboten, die nach der Kampagne angesiedelt ist. Zudem gibt es eine neue Intromusik sowie Kommentare der Entwickler.

Players will also find all of the multiplayer functionality from the original release, including 6 new multiplayer levels, making for a total of 36 battlefields. SKULLS OF THE SHOGUN: BONE-A-FIDE EDITION supports real-time multiplayer over Steam, hotseat support, and asynchronous multiplayer modes that allow players to take turns at their leisure. Multiplayer matchups now reward players as well, with a new progression system that allows players to gain experience points, rank up, and unlock emblems. The asynchronous “Skulls Anywhere” mode is designed to be forward-compatible, so future releases of SKULLS OF THE SHOGUN will play with each other regardless of hardware platform.

Wer die Bone-A-Fide Edition vorbestellt, erhält sofort Zugang zu einer Beta-Version. Diese umfasst das erste Kapitel der Kampagne sowie alle 36 Multiplayer-Karten.
