Golden Joystick Awards 2013 verliehen
Am gestrigen Abend sind die Golden Joystick Awards 2013 im Westminster Park Plaza verliehen worden. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Preisverleihungen handelt es sich hierbei um eine Publikumswahl (über eine Mio. Teilnehmer). Eine Experten-Jury war demnach nicht beteiligt.
Zum Spiel des Jahres wurde Grand Theft Auto 5 gekürt. Die Kategorie "Best Indie Game" gewann Mark of the Ninja. The Last of Us wurde für bestes Storytelling und als bester Newcomer ausgezeichnet. Far Cry 3 siegte im Bereich "bester Spielmoment" (The Definition of Insanity), während BioShock Infinite den Preis für bestes visuelles Design erhielt. In der Kategorie "meisterwartetes Spiel" setzte sich The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt durch.
Ken Levine (System Shock 2, BioShock Infinite) wurde zudem mit dem Livetime Achievement Award ausgezeichnet.
