Half-Life 2: 64-bit Version ist da

Valve Software überrascht zu Weihnachten mit einem kleinen Geschenk und zwar eine 64-bit Version von Half-Life 2 und The Lost Coast. Wenn in eurem Rechner ein AMD64 FX-Prozessor seine Arbeit verrichtet und ihr die 64-bit Version von Windows XP installiert habt, könnt ihr in den Genuss kommen. Beim Start von Steam wird automatisch überprüft, ob euer Computer die Voraussetzungen erfüllt und anschließend beginnt der Download.

"Bringing the Source technology to the AMD64 processor platform is an important step in the evolution of our game content and tools," said Gabe Newell, Valve’s co-founder and president. "This investment in future processing will allow us, and third party developers working with Source, to push the boundaries of the gaming experience."
